    Im not sure if you fixed the problem yet. but what i did was shine a light in though the inspection plate and then looked through the hold until i saw the timing mark. at that point i realized that mine was broken off and then i did a flywheel replacement. it's just a huge pita job to do and would hate for you to do it and find out it was some other issue. like maybe you didnt put the starter wires back on correctly.
