So I just bought this car 10/10, drove it from Seattle to Phoenix with no problems. I noticed oil on the exhaust side when I got home. Cleaned it up a bit drove it and I think it's a head gasket leak. Can you guys confirm? I should replace it before it gets worse right? It's below the valve cover by the exhaust manifold. Back end of motor seems to be the worst. Here's some pictures. The 3 circled areas are where I took the pics..."cleaned" on the left oil seepage on the right.

Somewhat common for the M20 to do this over time. If it's minor and doesn't require much oil added you could leave it as-is. If you want it fixed you'll need to do the headgasket along with resurfacing the head and properly prepping the block. -

Yeah, it's less critical than you might think, oddly
Worth cleaning up, and changing the valve cover gasket,
since you're going to lash the valves anyway
