    I'll pump won't prime.

I have a freshly rebuilt bottom end and i have a new oil pump bolted up and with the sump on oil in and the t belt off I am spinning the intermediate shaft pulley using my air ratchet to attempt to prime the oil pump but I still can't see oil coming through the camshaft oil spray bar. Any advice on what else I need to do to get the oil flowing I read about using a drill but my method basically does the same thing?

I feel like an air ratchet doesn't move near as fast as a drill of some sort.

      Take the oil filter off.

      Then try again.

      Spinning the right direction???

Exactly nick I tried the drill method earlier this morning and it worked! I also tried a 1/2 inch impact gun but the drill worked a treat. Oil didn't come through the spray bar but oil was frothing around everywhere and around the cam journals.
