Condor Motor & Tranny Mounts Question

I researched extensively, but have not found the answer I have been looking for.

Q: Are Condor's UHMW Motor and Transmission mounts excessive for use mostly on the street? Has anybody had issues with their Condor mounts?

I plan to start autocrossing my E30 about once a month (I did once, motor mounts blew and destroyed coolant hoses). I did replace them with OEM mounts, but I know they are still rubber, and will end up just failing again.

I dont mind some vibrations, but are they overbearing for DD use? I want to keep my drivetrain in place, especially at autocross (no more sliced hoses!)

Curiously, I autocrossed my E36 318i (with DASC) for over 4 years and never had a single issue. But that car is no longer viable, so I am going to be using my E30 as it's replacement.

The guys at Condor seem like great folks, and I am in fairly close proximity to them (west coast of Florida) and would love to support them if their product fits my needs. I love that new shift knob of theirs too.

Depends on how much vibration you feel is acceptable on a day to day basis in some cars they can be quite noisy and have seen them break the ears off the tranny before but that said we run their 24v swap engine mounts in 20gmr's daily driver.

      Thanks for the reply,

I realize some vibration will be present. But how much noise and vibration exactly? Does the entire interior rattle or is it just a rumble? I had poly mounts in my e36 318 for awhile and they were definitely stiffer and vibrated (especially the M42) but it wasnt terrible to live with everyday. They were IE mounts and eventually the passenger side mount ripped itself apart since it wasnt a bolt through part.

How did they break the tranny ears off? Excess vibration? Metal fatigue? Over tightening?

He's talking about my tranny ear had to be welded back on. It seemed the washer supplied with the mounts was to small/thin and got pulled through and broke the tab off. Abigger washer fixed the problem. I run condors motor and trans mounts. Trans mounts were too much for me and switched to e36 oem's. They were pretty hellish.

            Thanks for the reply guys.

            Good find Skifree, thank you.

Perhaps I will run their motor mounts, and some UUC tranny mounts with TME's I have sitting around. Would it be fine mixing and matching driveline mounts like that? I also have an AKG diff bushing waiting to go in at some point too.

Personally I feel the vibration is barely noticeable, and they feel quite a bit more sturdy than stock. Worth the money, especially if your mounts are shot already.

I agree. I run condors motor and trans mounts on my daily/autocross car. There is obviously a bit more of vibrations but my car doesn't rattle and at idle its not bad, barely noticeable really. Only at initial acceleration from 1k - 1500 does it vibrate for me. Just makes me push faster through haha. But they are awesome to rev up with and autocross they are great. I recommend them, can't say over other products because these are the only ones I've tried but I like them.

Thanks for the input guys, this is exactly what I am looking for.

I like to hear it from multiple people, whether good or bad.

I'd stay stock rubber, but I know they will end up breaking again and I am sure even fairly new they still deflect quite a bit.

If you want a tranny mount that's stronger than stock but not unbearable look into e21 trans mounts and AKG aluminum cups for them. But honestly OEM mounts are fine for anything short of track duty most of the time.
