WARNING: DUMB QUESTION INBOUND: M20 from a 5 series question

ok, still learning the M20, and looking for parts, I have ran across a complete M20 from a late 80's 5 series, including the ECU, and harness for $300. I have a 325e that I am currently building a Seta + 885 build, and I need the intake, harness, etc from this other motor.

so the question is: is their a difference between this M20, harness and ECU and a one from a E30?

Harness and oil pan will be different than the one you need for an e30.

The E34 oil pan has a dipstick in it, the E30 moves that dipstick to the block.

You can use the E34 harness, it is much tidier than the E30 harness too, but you will need some heavy mods to make it work in an E30...I would not recommend it.

I was assuming it were an E28. I guess you could use E34 stuff if you wanted. Not recommended.

ok, cool, I'll pass on the harness and entire motor then, and just get the intake....
