    M20 timing belt?

I have been looking around for a timing belt kit for the M20B25 and nobody really seems to have one. Pelican Parts has a pricey one that has some stuff I don't really need. Does anybody know of a kit that uses quality parts? If not, what are the parts that I should buy separately to do the job right?

I've looked around on the forums and nobody really has a definitive answer. Looking for some extra advice. Thanks!

I'm talking about their kit, not just the belt itself. It's their water pump super kit (http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/cata...WATpmp_pg1.htm). Almost $400 with a lot of stuff I don't need, and some other parts I think I should need

Contact blunt for a continental timing belt/tensioner kit and whatever else you might need.

I've contacted blunt. What other things besides tensioner and timing belt might I need? Obviously water pump? Any other things that go along with that? Thermostat? Just looking to replace the stuff while I already have it apart.

Cam and crank seal if they're leaking. If not, leave them alone.

Coolant to replace what you lost.

Everything else I'd leave alone as long as it was good. Dist cap and rotor, t-stat, belts, etc.

srsly considering this route...so much more $$ than simply replacing my HG on my leaky beast

...but oh so much more rewarding!

                      How to fix an E30:

                      Is your engine leaking oil?

                      Engine swap.

                      Is your car overheating?

                      Engine swap.

Are you almost out of fuel?

                      Engine swap.

Why do people think they need a "kit" in order to do something? Just order the parts you need.

Pelican sucks. Use people like BMA Parts, Guten Parts, Blunttech, RM European, etc etc.

Be sure to do your water pump at the same time as the timing belt.

                          Hi new guy.
i buy most of my stuff from pelican. just for the easy of shopping with them and the 1 day shipping.
when i do this job i get the Contitech TB and tensioner. the graf waterpump. and BMW coolant. i also do the front seals if they are leaking and the valve cover and rocker plugs. the whole thing costs $110-175 depending on what you need. the pelican kit is a waste.
                          Much wow

i use pelican and BMA parts. use a conti belt and new original tensioner (not aftermarket tensioner),
