Motor swap ECU question

Hey guys I'm putting a m20b25 into my 86 es I bought a great running m20b25 with ECU and wiring harness out of a 89 automatic for the swap. My question is will an automatic ECU work with my manual car? Or do I need an ECU from a manual? Thanks

Are you swappingthe whole motor? Why not do a 2.7i since you've got all the parts?

As stated above it will work. There is only one DME used for both variants.
