    325i vs 325e ignition wires

    Bought some karlyn-sti ignition wires from a seller off eBay and he had them listed as compatible for my 1991 325i. But the part I received is labelled for a pre-88 325e and has a different part number. Will I be able to run this in my M20B25 or should I send them back an order different ones.

    only apply to pre 86 etas. "without sensor wire." but 86-1993 m20s are all the same wires.

      Yep that's why they're cheap, the "early" wires don't have the sensor wire included on the later wires (which happens to be a spendy [but very good idea to replace] piece).

        ETA engines don't need the Cylinder ID sensor on the #6 plug wire. But m20B25 engines need that sensor. If the wire set you have doesn't have that sensor you should not use it. The engine will run, but fuel mileage and performance will suffer.
        The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

          There is the wire coming off the cylinder 6 wire (on the rotor cap side) that ends in a 3 prong electric connector. So if this fits up on my m20b25 I should be okay?

            the wire on number 6 is not very important it makes sfa difference ive run with and without heaps of times
            89 E30 325is Lachs Silber - currently M20B31, M20B33 in the works, stroked to the hilt...

              Yes that's correct. It connects under the diagnostic port.
