where is the oil level sensor plug on a 89 e30 325i

Oil level light pop'd on, last time I had it looked over for it the shop said the sensor wire/plug just came lose and they plugged it back in.

Going off that info, I think it may have came lose again but i can't find it.
I assume its on the back side of the oil pan?

If anyone can explain a bit more so I can connect it again I would appreciate it.

The sensor and plug is on the left side of the oil pan, a bit forward of the center of the engine.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

The somewhat confusing part is that when you see it, you're looking
straight down at the top of it. It's in the bump- out in the pan.

where it came loose is likely to be the connector to the loom though. Up near the front next to the timing cover on the drivers side. Should see it near the thermostat housing area.

Got it, thanks. Makes more sense, I was just not familiar with how the sensor was placed in the oil pan then where the connector went.
It looks like it wire got spliced to a connector then came loose.

they crap out all the time. plastic goes really hard and the connector just pretty much breaks up into pieces.
