    Oil Problems ?

I Own a 1987 325e 2 door 5 speed. The issue is that I am getting oil in the intake manifold, and I have no clue on how its getting in there. I have replaced all gaskets and seals on the engine and torqued everything accordingly; therefore, besides the intake manifold gasket itself, any thoughts?
I got valves that need adjusted still, but I don't think that's the issue unless someone else does. I am getting oil down the exhaust due to all of this and I found that this is why my exhaust is heating up. The most oil was in the elbow hose and throttle body. Its not a lot, but it is enough to notice there is a problem. The sensor under the throttle body is filling with oil and leaking down the block this is how I found the issue. Then of course I started taking things apart. I am getting oil out of the hose that goes from the cold start valve to the intake elbow.

Anyways, there is a problem and I am just not sure where to start looking. Still waiting on a mechanic friend to help adjust the valves, but maybe I can fix this issue before he comes.
I don't think the valves being on the lose side would cause this issue, but then again I am not sure.

    Any Info would help.
    Thanks

Oil gets into the intake on everything. It comes from the crankcase ventilation hoses. If it bothers you that much you need a catch can.

Worn valve seals and worn cylinders/rings are the cause. The work around is to plug the opening on the throttle body and route the crankcase breather hose to a catch can. That will take care of oil vapors from the block, but replacing the valve seals is the only way to deal with that problem.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

Agree with Jim on everything said. but I will add that almost every m20 I've worked on has had oil in the intake to some degree, so don't worry too much just because you have oil in there as it will likely keep on going like that for a long time. I'm not saying it wouldn't be good to fix but it's not as serious as finding oil in say, your coolant..

Thanks guys. I know oil goes in from the breather, but when its leaking out from the throttle body and running down the block that's not normal. Its right where the throttle body flapper valve is connected inside leaking into the position sensor.

Anyways I might put in a catch can later then. Anyone know how tight the lock nut on the rocker for adjusting the valves is supposed to be? I am not waiting on my buddy anymore and am going to hit it solo.

That's because the throttle shaft is vertical. This allows any oil to leak straight out the bottom bushing. Bad design. They're all horizontal on modern cars.
