    Having computer problems

I was trying to install an ebay performance chip my friend had sitting around the other day, plugged it in and the car never fired. We took it out and put everything back as it was, still nothing. Some teeth on the chips were slightly bent but they still plugged in alright.

We happened to have another ECU sitting around as well which now runs fine with the same quirks the previous one did (doing it's job and running a bit funny due to bad temp sensors).

Do chips like these break computers? Is this one still likely salvageable?

The chip is only a memory module and cant fry the ecu itself. Only damage during installation can damage the ecu. Bad grounds, not connected all the way, there are a few ways. Take pictures of both sides of the non working ecu mother board and ill see what i can tell
