Cracked distributor rotor after tb and camseal replacment

Wrapped up timing belt, wp, cam seal replacement and car didnt start. Noticed dist cap was loose (aparently wasnt torqued down.. long story), pulled it off to find dist rotor destroyed. Replaced rotor, torqued down cap, still no start. Checked rotor again, and it got damaged again. Could the rotor mount attached to cam be damaged now?

I have seen the rotor adapters crack more than once. Take off the rotor and check it out.

Is the engine hoist hook on there behind the cover? Forgetting to reinstall would place the cap in the wrong position

Would it be ok to pull the rotor adapter off with timing belt still on? Or would i have to release the then tensioner and belt first?
When reinstalling the cam shaft etorx bolt, what is tq spec? 60nm is what ive found but seemed really tight. I backed off when it started cracking the black cover behind the rotor adapter.

Also, is there a specific orientation of the rotor adapter? After having it off for the cam seal replacement, i mounted it back but didnt notice to line anything up. The cam pulley obviously had the nub but not the rotor adapter.

        Thanks

          Was the distributor damaged also?

Btw, the motor hook is on. How tight should the fit be for the tb cover? I see a very slight gap.

Looks bent. It should be flush.

Also there's a clip that goes on the hook that holds that top hose from getting eaten by the fan

Re dist. Looks like some scrapes around the center node.

I think there's a flat on the rotor adapter that you're supposed to line up with the cam sprocket. Black cover also has a hole that lines up with a nub on the sprocket also.
