Did I screw up this fuel line? Trying to install new injectors.

    Whatsup r3v,

I'm in the process of installing 19lb injectors and I've removed injectors from the intake ports, as well as removed all the required bolts.

I've moved the breather hose, and I'm not able remove the fuel line that connects to the fuel rail on the side closest to the firewall.

The bentley didn't say anything about releasing/bleeding fuel pressure and thats why the line won't come off. I tried to pry the line off using a flat head screwdriver and had sort of damaged the hose.

You can see it a little better in this picture

My next thoughts were to cut the hose and reconnect it at the cut... Is this dangerous? What are your thoughts? I'm stuck -__-

    Please help!

Will I have to reinstall the injectors in the intake ports, reconnect everything, and run to release the pressure without the fuel pump relay?

Do you have a pair of stork leg needle nose? Twist the line a bit to break it loose from the nipple and then it should pry off with the tips of the pliers on each side of the hose. The fuel may spit at you a bit, so covering the line with a rag would be a good idea. The frayed end of that line will need to be cut and removed, on second look, there's a nasty bulge in that line, cut that out too. I cant see the condition of the rest of the line, but if cracked at all, or if you dont have enough slack to reconnect it to the fuel rail, replace it.

it wont come off because it's old, perished and stuck on there. Just pull it off, use a razor blade to cut the remainder off the fuel rail, then go to an auto store and buy some replacement EFI fuel hose. It's not exactly a huge expense and it will be nice and pliable compared to the old and brittle one you have.

This. It'll probably crack soon anyways, as 25+ year old fuel lines are wont to do.

^+1 If it is that brittle, better just spend the $10 to replace the hose and not die in a burning e30.

although make sure it is fuel injection line, not low pressure fuel line for a carb'd car.

Ok thanks for all of your responses guys. If I were to replace it, how much line would I need? Also, where does it connect/lead to. Can all of this be found in the bently?

it runs back to the fuel hard lines as they pass under the car. If you look on the left hand side, down near the rails, you can see where they join. Replace both the return and the feed fuel lines. It's literally a case of just following the hose back to see where they end.

Remove them and take them along with you to get the fuel line. Just make sure you get a couple extra inches to allow you to trim things to fit nice and neat.
