I'm going to hazard a guess that a seal is burning up?
Could there still be air in the coolant?
A small high-pitched vacuum leak?
Background: The original engine blew up, so I got another m20. I cleaned up the "new" engine and swapped over some good parts I had on the "old" engine (HD rockers, water & oil pump, belts, most gaskets & seals, etc). When I was doing this, I turned the water pump by hand, and it squeaked.. it didn't do that on the old engine. The car started up, and within 5 minutes this noise developed. I've driven it for maybe a half hour now, then took this video.
Ideas?
FOUND IT: It was an air leak coming from the plate on the intake for the vacuum hose to the FPR.
