    Water pump touching cylinder?!

    Replacing water pump and realized it scratched up the cylinder and I could see fresh metal thought that was kind of crazy. How bad is that? Never had problems with engine temp. m20b25. Always ran kinda cold actually.

    Can't tell 100% without a pic but as long as the scoring is not too bad it should be OK. I would sand down any high spots.

      The depth of the impeller's adjustable... with a press.

      Same for the flange.

      If your replacement is decent quality, it shouldn't do it.

      Stick some modelling clay in there, snug the bolts, then
      pull it apart and see how much clearance the new one will have...
