O2 sensor

Replacing my o2 sensor, I read that you can use a mustang sensor just have to splice into the old connector. Which mustang o2 sensor should I buy? The current one on my car is 4 wire but from what I've read you're supposed to use the v8 mustang sensor and those are 3 wire? At least the ones the part store showed me were. Unless they were retarded and were giving me the wrong year. Can someone help a brother out here

You don't need one to drive? Order one from blunt and drive it how it is until then

I really don't want to spend probably $150 when I can have something that does the same thing for a lot less

Edit: Also, I'm not going to be keeping the current engine that is in the car for more than probably 6-8 months so I'm trying to keep maintenance costs down during that time

It's worth the money to get the correct one for the car. It's less than $100.

But if you are not going to keep the engine then why bother with replacing it. Are you coming up for an emission test?

Well, think about it...$40 for a sensor that might not work or $100 for a much better chance of passing smog.

I've used the universal replacement sensors countless times on my own and customers cars and never had a problem. Some Google-fu and you can find some of the many part numbers that interchange.

The Mustang sensor DOES work. I just put one on my car not to long ago. I think I got one for a 90 Mustang with a 302. It was a 3 wire where the e30 is 4. You match the wire colors, and the one left over on the e30 side you have to ground it to the chassis.

Any part number on that 02 sensor would be appreciated. I have found 3 at Advance Auto Parts. All 3 are 4 wire.
