    Hi dnguyen1963

Yes i´ve asked for them to do the smoke test before anything else...

I´ll report later about the results.

    Thanks

Have you checked the metal elbow piece that the connects to the intake manifold to the idle control valve, (the short one with a small bend if your icv looks like an L).

It happened to me that it would slide in and out and and wasnt making a good seal. If it is loose at all you should seal it or cement it in place. That might not solve your idle problem completely but it did throw mine around a bit

            Hi 6A LDY

My car doesnt have an ICV.
It has an Air Slide Valve with the 4 hoses attached and everything seems fine.

Lets see what Bosch guys can do.

            Thanks

              Hello everyone

Just to give some feedback. The E30 seems to be almost ready.
From what i could understand talking with the mechanic, he had to delay the ignition timming.

What i understand from this is that the engine was previously tuned with an air leak and had the ignition time advanced.

It sounds like a clock now but its still not ready (the mechanic is quite thorough on things)... and i asked for them to wash the coolant circuit.

Let´s see how it ends up...

                  Hi guys

Updates (this shit is driving me mad...)

The Bosch service tried by various ways to find the problem.
The replaced the Air Slide Valve but no luck (as i´ve told them because i´ve tested it.)

After that they delayed the ignition timming so that the idle could come down. After a few trips i went back to them and said the car was undrivable (high fuel consumption, lazy engine,...)

So they putted all as it was before replacing some vacuum hoses. I picked up the car and the car drove very well and with a normal fuel consumption. The only problem they said, was that they could not make the car cold start on his own and that i had to press the accelerator for a while until the idle stabilizes.

After that i took the car to the MOT and they said that the car was burning a lot of oil. I found that very odd because i´ve never had problems of that sort.

At home i saw a bit of vapour coming from under the manifold and so i seached and found that the hose that comes out of the valve cover was loose.
After properly attached the idle is "too damn high" (about 1700rpm) even with the throttle screw totally unwinded, and a lot of slack on the accelarator cable and the vacuum valve screw compelitely closed.
Then i also noticed that was oil coming out from my oil filler cap.

                  Any thoughts about this?

Thanks for any tip and best regards for you all
                  Nuno
