    2.7i 1.3 upgrade?

So recently I was smashing down a long curvy back-road here in Washington when my timing belt decides to shit on me which also concluded in bending the hell out of a valve. So I was wondering, I have a 1987 325e and have access to a 885 head, throttle body, intake manifold and injectors for a good price and was wondering what else I would need for the 2.7i 1.3 motronic upgrade?
I'm looking for the shortest way of getting this car running again by doing this so any help would be lovely. I'm not fully understanding the sticky thread so maybe in someone elses words I'll get it better.

alright, well i was going to paste the sticky thread here but i see you already checked it out. yea it can be kind of messy due to a lot of people asking questions or just talking badly about the swap but il give you a hand. its important to note that there are plenty of variables at how you do this swap, like what parts from an I you use, so il just tell you what i used. you might be able to get it done with less but heres my list

    885 head
    325i intake manifold
    325i AFM
    325i injectors
    325i 3.0bar FPR
    325i throttle body
    325i intake boot
325i spark plug wires (has to have reference sensor)
    1.3 harmonic balancer
    motronic 1.3 Crank Position Sensor
motronic 1.3 Crank position sensor bracket (small piece that holds the crank position sensor)
    325i Idle control valve
    1.3 ECU
    1.3 engine harness

basically swap the entire top end off the ETA and put the 325i parts on. hook up the 1.3 harness to everything (injectors, starter, alternator, CPS, AFM, Coil, ICV) all these should be plugged in no problem. you may need to splice the oil level sensor, the oil pressure sensor, or o2 sensor, depending on if you grabbed these items from the 325i or used the ones from the ETA. use new head bolts and head gasket when reinstalling.

then go down to my post #324 and i wrote a bunch of little issues i found i didnt see in the thread.

Leave the intake and exhaust manifolds, harness and ecu attached to the cylinder head. Grab the airbox along with it.

Also pull the trigger wheel and it's hall sensor.

Pull off your cylinder head with the harness and ecu attached. Remove airbox.

      new timing belt and components.

swap on trigger wheel and hall sensor.

New headgasket, water pump, and new head bolts.

Install 885 head with ECU and harness still attached. Install replacement AFM

      swap O2 sensors.

      Buy a cheap performance eeprom

      enjoy your budget build

ha^ i pulled the 885 head, intake manifold, throttle body AFM, injectors and harness all at the same time. just undid the head bolts. threw the valve cover back on. removed the timing belt, exhaust, throttle cable and just lifted the thing out of the junkyard car. not the funnest way. but quickest

Its actually not all that bad. I was expecting the worst, but was pleasantly surprised when I pulled up haha.

Okay so the parts list on everything else I'm looking at is waaay larger than that although some parts I realize are optional. If I rounded up all the parts you just listed would she work just fine with those and nothing else?

Yea I'm pretty sure I got most of it. I personally just wired my old o2 sensor to an extra 1.3 o2 sensor plug and plugged it into my harness because the o2 sensor was stripped and I couldn't remove it. The 325i o2 sensor will need to be lengthened if you are going to use stock eta exhaust since the bung is by the transmission. The oil level can be wired or swapped with the 325i one. Same with the oil pressure sensor (highly recommend using the 325i sensor at the least) but with the parts I listed all should be good. The starter may need some wiring done since the eta and I starters vary by year. Make sure to have the injector wiring harness too. Basically if you find a junkyard 325i you'll have all the parts you need
