    88 SETA Wiring harness differences

Is there any difference between the 1988 Seta engine wiring harness and the 1990 325i engine wiring harness? Thanks!

Technically yes but it will function exactly the same.

Oil level plug is different, injector harness is removable...um the plugs inside the firewall for the tach are different.

Find the 2.7i conversion thread. Goes through it all there

I am fairly sure the SETA harness is the same as late model B25

              yes it should match up.

what you need to check is the C101 connection next to the firewall. open then back side of the plug on the car side and make sure pin 20 is either nothing or hot. if it is brown / ground. you will fry the harness!

I have '88 SETA harness available now, by looking at it all seems the same as late model one but wouldn't know all technicalities of it tho

This is wrong. You're comparing 87 to 88.

I fried a SETA harness by plugging it into a late model b25. I strongly encourage you to compare the C101 connectors/pinout diagrams.

I fried a harness myself, plugged a 91 into an 88 and pin 20 was the cause. Do as cabriolet said.
