    No spark, coil has power.

Im at wits end right now. I've read every thread and I just don't know what it could be.

    1985 325e Car with 2.7i stroker turbo. Whodwho Mega-squirt.

-Coil has ~15v to + and grounded to strut with multimeter
    -Main relay seems ok.
-CPS is brand new and spaced to 1mm
-C104 Green/red wire directly to + on coil
-Megasquirt reads sending out signals to coil
    -Tried another known working coil/relays
-Fuel works, I can smell it.
-C101 is rewired but seems correct
-Unplugged OBC and tried still nothing
    -Fuseable link is okay

Any other ideas? Need someone to talk it out with. Maybe run more checks?

What about it? It registers sending signals out. Alot of wiring has changed in the car so could be anything.

Also, if I turn the key to on and ground the coil to the strut tower the wire I am grounding it with sparks.

Distributor cap? Are you getting spark form the spark plug?

Pull out one of the spark plug wires, plug in an extra spark plug that you might have laying around, while you have someone start the car take the spark plug wire with the extra spark plug connected to it and touch the valve cover for spark. If there's no spark then it's the distributor cap and/or rotor because, you are getting power at the coil.

To test from the coil to the distributor cap:
Pull the lead wire from the coil to the distributor cap, put a screwdriver (with a rubber handle and wear rubber gloves) in the wire, while you have someone starting the car touch any metal on the car with the screw driver. Make sure your body doesn't touch any of the metal on the car. If you get spark, the coil is fine.

Let me know how you turn out. I'm curious as to why you can't get her started. I have the same problem too and I think it's my distributor cap.

E30^2 I will try again I tried the screw driver and spark plug trick but may not have been touching fully as I am by myself. I will try to recruit someone today to help me out.

Im going to try after work to see if the volts are getting cut or dropping somewhere when cranking.

It's best you have someone turn the ignition while you test because you need to see the spark.

You said you checked your fuse link. Can you take a pic of it and post it?

Yea, my fuel pump works though. I'll get you one after work

So, did a few tests with a multimeter.
Power on coil to Strut = 12v
                    Ground to strut = 12 v
Ground to strut while cranking = constant 12v
Continuity from coil ground to pin 1 ecu is about .879 or so.

So if I am understanding the tests the ecu isn't putting out any sort of ground to the coil when firing.

Sooo yeah? Am I right? Thoughts?

Edit: Running around the ECU pins, Ohm readings on 47&48 are about 867 And when I swap the crank and spark plugs at the front I get 1,050+

CPS is brand new, maybe got a shit one?

Did you test for spark at the spark plug?

Yes, I tested spark at plugs, wires, and coil. Nothing.

Its either the CPS or ECU.

Seems like the coil is fine and the CPs. Need to test if the dist cap is sending the voltage to the spark plugs.

That is why I said it is Megasquirt for you, it is custom system, could be coil driver, dwell time, pull up resistors. It all depends how you build it up. It is hard for us to just speculate on it.

Its CPS. Ohm readings is almost 2x amount out of tolerance. I will know tomorrow, getting a new one.
