But now i'm stuck again.. There is a wire from the fuel injector rail stuck to this bottom end and i'm unsure how to remove it anyone know ?

That bottom plastic part with the lines around it is a connector. Turn it and it will come apart.

Does it just slide off after I turn it counter clockwise ? I've been messing with it and it just turns a little amount, not even half way.

It may only turn a quarter turn or so. That wire has be been rigged in there for something. Maybe one of the connections fried or something. Just cut it then splice it back later.

As it turns, it will pull the plug apart.

Turn it like you would the O2 sensor (to the left) plug and hold both (top and bottom) ends. Then start pulling. The connectors inside are old and corroded, thats why it doesn't want to let up. Don't forget to spray some MAF sensor cleaner or any other contact cleaner to clean them up a bit. Also, there is a thingy right under the harness that holds "top" connector and the harness in place. Screw that off too.

Mine doesn't have any external wires, and judging by the electric tape on the top connector it looks like a bypass (imo the connectors are toast, or at least one). Replace.

Thanks guys for the replies it really means a lot. :)

                Update pt 3

Couldn't work on it much last week since it was pretty rainy here in SoCal but after it cleared I did a ton to make up for those days. I was able to take out the intake manifold by removing the fuel injector rail. I just said f it and might as well get them cleaned too. Also removed the hood and man it makes a TON of difference to work on. :D
But as always theres small problems that you'll come across like my most recent is that I can't take off the redish rotor that is in front of the timing belt cover since the 3 screws are stripped :(

Not sure what the best way to remove the stripped bolts is - I've read that a Dremel works, but evaluate the sense of that approach for yourself. Vice grips maybe?

As for bolt part numbers, a new rotor will come with new bolts (I'm 99% sure you can't buy just the bolts...unless your local nut/bolt shop has a really comprehensive selection of stock), so...you have to buy a new rotor...or, find a used one - they are removable.

Also, stripped bolts aside, looking at the state of your rotor in that top picture, it's looks like it's about due for replacement.

                  Rotor part number: 12111715906

                  Cost is approx $30.

Looking good man. Have you tackled the exhaust/manifold yet?

I would personally recommend adding 2x 11151714390 ($1 each) to the list of parts to buy. These are the o-rings that sit at the top and bottom of the bitch pipe. Unless of course yours are in good condition (and you're better at resisting the "while I'm in there" temptation ;-))

Edit: make that 4x orings - always prefer to have a couple of spares on hand in case you pinch/snap/lose one somehow...

Sub'd to the thead and working from home - quit distracting me ;-)

No idea what comes with the BMW gasket kit, would be nice to get a good close up to see what they include.

Use a dremel on the screws to create a flathead notch.

No no no. I used a pair of vicegrips and it worked great for the stripped bolts on the rotor.
