    325is M20 starting problems

    Hey guys,

I've posted a while back about problems I am having with my E30 after burning 1 harness due to a short.

M20 new starter (re manufactured), new wiring harness.

I have jump started the car (i.e push it down a hill, jump inside and vrooom) and the car works fine. No CHECK engines, or other warning lights on.

However, if I turn it off and turn the key, nothing happens apart from the chk chk chk chk. I tried boosting the car with my E92 and still nothing. My last wiring harness was fried because I kept chk chk chking so I am quite scared.

    Someone...plz help. I'm completely baffled.

    Thanks for any inputs

sounds like a bad engine ground. check the strap that goes from your oil pan to the body.
when you fried the harness, you may have melted wires together under the fuse box and or into the passenger compartment.
    Much wow

Oh my god! I will go check the ground/replace it right away. I do remember it smoking and I wondered how the hell it could do that.

I'll be back in a few with an update !

Woo! Replaced ground and the car roared into life right away.
Thanks guys, would have probably burned a million wiring harnesses before looking at that.

          Cheers
