My eta is stored currently so I'm going on memory.
As I recall there is an air temperature sensor on the engine side of the air filter box. That cable you are highlighting in the first picture should wrap around the front of the air filter box and plugs into that sensor. The eta's idle control system uses that as an input. There is no separate air temperature sensor on the "I" cars.
If your previous owner left you with an "I" air filter box that sensor won't be there.101

Thank you that makes perfect sense. Part number on the Air Flow meter is 0 280 202 066 which is one of the "I"My eta is stored currently so I'm going on memory.
