    FI Questions

Hey all, I was wondering if there was a performance gain from using the 3 bar fpi in place of the 2.5 bar fpi that comes on the eta. I have a couple of the 3 bar fpi's that's the reason for the question. I know It would increase pressure in the rail and to the injectors so this may be too much psi for the old gray tops idk.

Roger that, I thought that much but wasn't completely sure. I am still kinda new to fuel injection so it doesn't hurt to ask. Plus I had them laying around so I was thinking out loud lol.

in order to make power you need more than just more fuel, you also need more air.

The only 2 things worth doing to an Eta car (other than a head swap or actual engine work) are a chip and a 3.25 LSD.

Yeah I am going to do those 2 and call it quits for now. I danced around forever but decided not to go the 2.7i route. I am going to pick up a S5x variant down the road and go that route I think. I mean I am going to have to swap harness and ECU's for either one so why not.

Because SOHC is where its at......go buy an e36, no swap required.

I don't know if that's the most logical reason to swap to a dual cam but whatever makes you happy!

I honestly would love to grab another 2.7eta put the 885 head on it, but do it with a stoked crank and a set of nice pistons that match up. I did some numbers and it would cost me 2 times the amount to just put in the S variant for around the same HP (approximate). I will be honest, I'm not wealthy but not dirt poor and my priorities dictate my choices (just like any other working man who has a family and or bills lol) In a perfect world I would super stroke a 2.7 (3.1 ish) and make that work. I have been talking to the 5X guys and there is a lot of easy HP to be made there and when done right it is very reliable as well. I will be enlisting RobK over at Kadunza to make me a custom harness and also help with the harness and all electronics engine wise.

The 36 isn't a bad car at all imo, except for the understeer it has. But I don't personally care for the body of the car at all. You sir may laugh at me but the E30 is in my top 3 favorite cars, and that's with a Pagani Zonda Cinque roadster at the top so my list isn't cheesy imo.

i spent a total of like 250$ (minus chip because thats not "needed" for the swap) on a 2.7i swap. complete head, Intake manifold, AFM, throttle body, harmonic balancer, harness, ecu, wires, injectors, fpr, the whole shebang, 250$ and i LOVE this car. but yes....even i am considering a turbo, in true budget fashion
