    m20 advice

    got a question to ask

had an 2.9l stroker metric mechanic pistons stock rods , block was o ringed , welded cylinder head

now after driving it a bit with a shitty tune which i shouldn't have done but i did so that is in the past now,

specs on what the engine had

the question is i had Pistons** 2900 Sport, 86mm, Hard Anodized, 10.0:1 CR

now those pistons are fried and are nothing but a paper weight i had my fun but its time for a fresh build once again , but this time i wanna lower my compression if i still could or ill get a new block

is there any way i can lower my compression using 86mm pistons and what pistons would i need to do so ,

im still using the 885 head its still clean with a 272 cam and im going to be buying heavy duty rocker arms
with some aftermarket or brand new m20 valves ,

the engine held up and did not blow the head gasket at 25psi just melted the pistons , also running methanol bought a huge can from JB power source

. also forged rods is what im probably gonna end up buying and properly build up the motor with a good friend of my dads which will be helping me with this build , i would ask him about the pistons but hes a vett guy and owns a supercharged classic stingray

I'd go with some Ross Racing pistons. You can order them through Ireland Engineering. The standard "off the shelf" compression they carry is 9.75:1 but you can custom order them with the compression of your choice. It sounds like you should do 8.5:1, maybe 9:1 at most.
