    Vacuum leaks

    Hi I recently purchased a 1986 325es

The idle on it is a little weird jumps around from >1000-1500rpm. I think I might have a vacuum leak somewhere and as I am new to the forum and e30's I was wondering if someone could help me with details about what hoses to check for leaks and to replace.

Also what is a normal idle rpm in an e car?

    Thank you!

To find all the vacuum leaks, you need to do a proper smoke test. If you do not know how then have a shop perform one for you.
