    Fuel hoses

I need to replace the two fuel hoses that run to the fuel rail and the FPR in the engine bay as they are cracking and leaking fuel. I believe one is a supply and one is a return. I am unable to find part numbers for them so I'm figuring I have to buy a certain length of hose and cut it to size. What kind of hose will I need? And how much of it do you think I will need?

Just a 5/16's fuel injection hose obtained at your local auto parts store, take them off and measure them then get same length.

      Fuel hoses

Make sure you buy the high pressure fuel injection hose, the cars line pressure is 3.0 bar / 43psi so just get higher than that. It could be labeled 8mm, 7.9mm, or 5/16. It's all the same. Replace them one at a time so you don't mix them up, and pop the fuel filler cap or the system will be pressurized and maybe perhaps shoot you in the face with gas like me. I think it even holds pressure with a check valve or with the pump, so be careful.

I just picked up fuel hose from turnermotorsport. They sell it in meter long segments. OEM is a 8mm inner diameter and 13mm outer. The fuel system does hold pressure for a while. I just cover where in pulling the line off with a rag to avoid getting hit in face.

BMW 8mm fuel injection hose is way better quality than auto parts store hose, it's all i use. Awesome stuff.

If you can't get a BMW car dealer to get it, BMW motorcycle dealers generally stock it.

Handy tip: pull the fuel pump relay and crank the engine to relieve pressure in the lines.

should also replace the small bit of the same hose under the drivers side that goes to the fuel filter

About 8' of 5/16 fuel injection hose will be plenty, just don't get carb rated hose.

                      Fuel hoses

It's $4-5 a foot, I ended up using 3 feet for my m10, only did the two main fuel lines above the fuel pump, and having 2 leftover.

You can get 5M of Conti (OE) FI hose from autohausaz for about $30. It's enough to do 2 cars under the hood plus a little left over.

Fyi any hose that is not rated for FI not tolerate ethanol
