how much oil does my 88 325is take and what kind of oil should i put since it have a small leak ?

Out of curiosity, where is the small oil leak at? It could easily just be an oil pressure sensor which you could add onto your to-do list while changing the oil.

I use 10w30 non-synthetic since I'm in Colorado, but I've heard of people using 20w40.

I use 20w50 in the summer and 10w40 in the winter. The valve cover gasket is a really easy replacement.

20w-50 Valvoline VR1. Oils with a high zinc content are better for engines like these that don't have hydraulic lifters.Comment
