    Oil Leak? M20

My es / 885 has been sitting for a couple days now after needing a new alternator. Noticed wet substance under it near the oil pan but not directly underneath it , not sure what part is exactly leaking? Any clues?

Which side of the car? If the right side the oil pressure switch or the oil filter adapter and cooler hoses (if installed) would be suspects.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

So, near the oil pan there seems to be a connector to some type of hose , and under that i think that is the liquid on the ground. So in the general area of the oil pan.

Can you get the front of the car up enough to get a picture of what you are talking about?

Your oil spot does look like its right below the sensor mentioned above. When mine went bad I was able to unplug the wiring and oil dripped out of the wiring too. Oil even dripped out of a crack in the casing of the wire elsewhere to make it look like I had another leak. New sensor during my next oil change and a new wire connector and I was good to go.

That is the connector to the oil level sensor....take a paper towl and dip it into the spot and see if it is oil or coolant. If it is oil, there are plenty of spots that could leak it on the m20. You need to clean it well, and then see where it comes from. Being in front of the motor, could be all the way up to the valve cover, oil pan gasket (I see enough RTV there)
