    Engine Oil recommendations?

So I just bought my 88 325 and plan on keeping her for The rest of my life as my daily driver project..
I live in Texas and it's always hot, what oil should I put in her?
Any recommendations for summer oil and winter oil?
Is synthetic oil good for these older cars or should I stay with conventional?

    She has 280,xxx miles

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Next time, do a search on this topic before creating a post. This has been beaten to death. At a minimum, Rotella T 15W40.

Having decent levels of zddp, this is what I run in my m20s. Inthinkmformtexas 15-40 is too thin especially in summer

Thanks a lot for everyone's input and I did do a significant amount of research and read a few forum debates over oil prior to posting this. I don't know how to link you but jlevie your post was a huge help and I appreciate you taking the time to help out.
