So we cowden_12 and I are well into the m20 swap in the 84 318i, but there are a few things that I'm still not sure about, and was not expecting to see when I got to them.
1st, I should be able to find the diagrams again for the wiring of the c101, but if anyone has them on hand it would be perfect. (this is for l-jet to motronic 1.1)
2nd, the 318i power steering pump lines are too short for the m20, disconnect power steering until he can get the right lines?
3rd the shifter issues. since the getrag 240 uses the sheet metal shifter assembly, and now we have to switch to the aluminum arm for the 260 trans. Does the bushing for the back of the arm unbolt on all e30s? If not (like post 88 cars) is there anything else I can do to make the shifting arm work without it?
4th, what can we do about throttle cables? Doesnt look like the original 318 throttle cable will work. We dont need cruise since it doesnt work. Can we make it work, or should we just use an m20 cable?
