    89 m20b25 Auto: Throttle Hesitation & 0 Power

    The car has a weird idle, (maybe a bad spark plug?) and when you first open the throttle up it bogs out then r3vs up.

    When you drive the car, there is no power. if you floor it, it goes no where. like the fastest ive gotten in since this has been happening is 45

    Car history :

    Before I had it, it was sitting since at least 2005 bough the car in 2013

    -fuel tank was rusted out and had a clog in a intank line. (might have sucked up crap into the injectors)
    - trashed my spare fuel pump
    - new fuel filter
    - new timing belt
    - fuel pump

    the PO rebuilt the engine a while back, it was the PO's DD but was front end towed in park (i think it was towed in park) because the drive shaft bolts, where it meets the rear diff were snapped off.

    Maybe the injectors are clogged?

    I initially though it was a bad fuel pump but changed that today and there was no difference

    I dont think there is a vacuum leak

    I hope it has nothing to do with the torque converter

    Im thinking fuel injectors since it had that rusted out tank, I mean it looked like it was filled with water.

    it starts fine but under a driving load it doesnt perform

    Checked the fuel pressure at the rail

    3.0 BARS

    I also listened for ticking on the fuel injct. all of them had a steady tick except cylinder 6, but when I remove the plug wire the engine dies so.... idk

      Even clogged injectors will tick.
      If you pull the center coil wire and crank the motor and then pull a couple plugs, are they wet? If not, I'd suggest pulling the injectors and getting them cleaned properly. I had this issue on a Toyota 4 Runner recently and 3 of the injectors were really clogged.

        As you drive, does the tach respond normally? You'd get a lot of engine revs if
        the trans was slipping much.

        Go through all 6 plugs, pulling one wire at a time, and see what happens.
        If it dies when you pull #6, that kind of suggests it's not running on all 6...

        With an auto- is the kickdown cable there and adjusted right?

        I'd look at the throttle position switch, too, to make sure nothing's goofy there.

        There are quite a few things that can do this...

          I pulled all injectors and cleaned/ tested them, injector 6 didnt work at all.

          replaced that but its still not running 100%

          im going to check the kick down cable next, and i think it needs an o2 sensor

          but the above problem was solved with the different injector
