    Turbo m20 break in?

How would one break in a freshly rebuilt m20 with a Turbo build on it? How would tuning effect the engine break in? Or would it be recommend to put everything stock. Break in the engine then put the Turbo build on it? I am in the process of building my engine and would like to set all the turbo stuff up on it now rather then having to tear into it again later. I'm using megasquirt also.

Personally, I'd do the initial run- in with known 'carburetion', just to seat the rings
and get the cam mated to the rockers. So 500- 1k miles on the stock, properly- functioning
system. With a high ZDDP oil. Because it adds, like, $20 bucks to your build.
Then, if it's ok, do whatever tickles your fancy.

That said, I'm in the 'break it in hard' camp- get it up to temperature at 2500 rpm, then do 10- 20
hard pulls to 4/5 of redline, coast down on the engine, pull hard, repeat. I've had really good luck with
ring sealing that way, and no ill effects. And it's pretty easy to do in about 5 minutes.
Then you let it cool, recheck everything, and then just don't let it idle for long for the next hour or
    2. You sound like a dick at red lights, but then, duh, BMW?

Works on street engines, works on race engines.

    Others will disagree.

My turbo setup with renewed engine:

Turn on, verify no fuel leaks, go for a drive in the city. Plenty of stop and go. Once engine warms up completely, beat on it like your life depended on it. End with a nice drive through city.

      Then you should be good.....
