    What is this problem.... (video provided)

    The car has a really bad idle on startups (whether hot or cold) and randomly does this at times.



    I've changed spark plugs, distributor cap + rotor, ignition coil, fuel pump, fuel filter (twice), oil filter, oxygen sensor and tried on two different AFMs and the car has absolutely no vacuum leaks. You could tell how bad the car is shaking from the camera shake. On top of all this, my car gets an average of 8 miles to the gallon.

    Get one of these. Voltage tester. Hold it to the ignition coil wire going to the distributor. Check if the pulse is regular and rhythmic, or if the pulse is all over the place consistent with the crappy idle.

    That way you know if the problem is fuel side or ignition side. Maybe your injectors are bad.

        Something else to try as well is to check your plug gap. Adjusting the gap to the wider end of the spec will also make the idle more stable.

          Check your fuel pressure and if low, try pinching off your return fuel line partially to see if your fuel pressure regulator is on the way out. Also try cleaning your idle air control valve. Your air/fuel ratio may be out of whack somewhere. Is the breather hose coming off your valve cover correctly attached? You might have some sort of odd crank case ventilation leak.

            Thanks for all the help guys but this was a couple of months ago haha. It ended up just being a bad TPS.
