11:1 eta bottom end w/ 731 head 2.7i help

Hello everyone,

I'm getting ready to do a 2.7i build with an euro eta bottom end that has the 11:1 compression pistons and a 731 head. So far i have the: engine(running w/ 175k), 731 head and throttle body.
For now I would like to just bolt the head up and use my chipped 027 dme to get some more top end while I'm gathering parts but I have a few questions about this setup i'm hoping someone can help me out with.

What intake manifold you guys would recommend the b23 or the b25?

Can i use an eta head gasket?

Will there be any issue with valve clearance?

I do plan on rebuilding the engine soon and swapping to motronic 1.3 or MS but am waiting until car is not a DD anymore.

The combustion chamber in the 731'is the same as the 200 so if you are using the stock valves the clearance should be the same although I have no knowledge about your HC pistons.

I'll be using the b23 intake with my 731 (w+2 valves) so you should be fine with that and a b25 TB

Thanks, i didn't think clearance would be a problem i just haven't heard much about this combo.
Are you doing any other work to the head?

besides the over sized valaves, virtually everything has been replaced....springs, guides, 272 cam, decked, rockers refaced and I may replace th eccentrics just since they are the only part that is not new.

Sounds like you have a nice engine in the works. I checked out your threads and got a lot of info, thanks for that.
How do you like it with the eta electronics?

The head isn't installed yet. I'm 100% stock ETA for now except for an SSSquid chip

Start gathering your motronic parts. Took me a while to get decent parts at a decent price.

I'll post updates as they come. I'm going to use the stock b23 cam, I intake and a 64mm neuspeed TB w/ spacer thats from the 80's. I also want to put larger valves and have it matched ported. I heard that MarkD has an e/i chip that lets you use the stock eta harness.

I got these back today from Delta Cams. They are the original b23 rockers only refaced and lightly polished.
