Like the title says, I just got my 325i harness installed to go with my 2.7i. The car is an '87 eta and the harness is a late model 325i harness. The starter is the original eta starter with the spade connector.
The i harness has the 3 hookups including the unloader relay wire which I was simply going to wrap in heat shrink and tuck away.
Anyway got everything in and now the starter won't do anything, it was working fine on the eta engine in the car a month ago.
I started diagnosis by unplugging the spade connector that I spliced in place of the original ring connector. I then manually jumped the big positive lug to the spade which should in theory spin the starter over. Got nothing.
Next out of curiosity I checked for voltage at the spade and found that it gets 12v when the key is "on" as well as in the "start" position. Wtf? This can't be right. Any idea what's going on guys? This thing is ready to fire up otherwise!!!
Thanks.
