In what way would you not be doing the work? You'd get a head sent to you. and then crank, rods, pistons. You gotta assemble the motor and get the block punched out your self. So saying something that makes zero sense.

Do you know how to assemble a head or a block? Its not something you just pick up and decide to do one day your gonna need special tools know correct clearances etc.

Yea I know what goes into building an engine it's just I'd rather build the head my self along with doing a little research to find the correct oem parts to use.

It's not that I don't think those companies are credible I don't trust anyone touching my car other than me and a few peoples work I have seen.

Do you have the tools? Dial gauge to read end shaft play on crank, ring compressors, tool to press in rod bolts, bore gauge to make sure your not rebuild a motor with cylinders shaped as eggs? No rebuilding a head isn't hard I did mine it was easy but your gonna need the rocker arm tool to get the cam out and the valves and what not need to be done by an experienced machinist.

Yes I have majority of those tools and I work at a shop where if I ever need anything I got tools at my disposal. [emoji6] all that I am lacking at the moment is the place to do all this. I live in an apartment complex

No my manager is pretty cool about doing things as extreme as a 5speed swap or a oilpan gasket, doing the work under the car but yanking an m20 out I am pretty sure he will bitch
