The manifold is a direct bolt on...
the e manifold favors lower RPM and i manifold favors the higher RPM
The throttle body on the i is bigger and e is smaller.
Everything is a direct bolt on

i know it is a direct bolt on, but since the e head has smaller ports is there enuff meat in the e head to grind out so the ports will match?

the head is the same casting for the e and i head....welll 88 528e head and 325i head are the same minus holes for the cam journals. So theoretically you can take out the same material and come out the same.
If you have the bentley you can see the size of the port.
It would be pointless just to put on the intake as you wouldnt see any difference minus the bigger throttle body
I would just do the head swap
