if clips go on then its probably pushed far enough in so it would be the o-rings damaged upon in stall or there are deposits and the o-ring cant seal against the surface

Here is a pic of my injector rail removeid with my refurbished EVO3 type injectors: took less than 45 mins to replace and up and running.

I swapped the clips from non leaky one to leaky one and they kept leaking

the clips also tell you if the injector and o-ring are pressed in properly

Bentley manual says you supposed to replace the rubber o-rings whenever you pull the injectors; I took a chance when I did mine and got lucky they stayed dry.

It looks like there's no retaining clip on that leaky injector. The only other reasons it would leak are a faulty no ring or damaged fuel rail. You've never said why you pulled this all apart on a a ar that just had head work so you may want to take a a step back and do some more digging.

As for Sea Foam, I'm a little old school and have honestly never used the stuff. To my mind trying to solve this problem with it is like trying to dislodge a coronary embolism by going on a diet of Big Macs

Two of the injectors are leaking at the rail. I've taken it apart twice and reassembled it and they are still fucking leaking. Wtf!?

Couldn't you just run some injector cleaner and some seafoam through the engine first, hit the freeway at 4000rpm for a few miles to try and burn away any build up? I've also heard of mixing a quart of atf in a full tank of gas can help clean out the injectors since atf has so much detergent.

I suspect your combustion chambers look the same. I'd do compression and leak down tests, a whole bunch of maintenance and hope i don't need to pull the head.

The head was just pulled by the last owner and a valve job done when the timing belt went. It ran fine just idled rough when cold

Make sure you have all the pintle caps. Sometimes one or two stay in the manifold.

Actually what I did was grabbed my biggest ratchet and longest extension and used it as a long lever and it popped right off. Turns out you don't need to take the clips off just to pop the fuckers from the sockets I was losing my mind
