    2.7i swap starts but will not idle

    Hey so as the title says I did a 2.7i swap on my '88 325is. I took my block from my old '84 325e and put all of the 325is parts on it (head, throttle body, manifold, ect) the block is stock eta and I redid the piston rings on all 6 pistons. Everything is torqued to spec and connected. Also am running a Sssquid chip to get the DME to run the engine. Now when I go to start the car it will start but it will not idle. It dies almost immediately. I can, however, keep it running by feathering the throttle but when it is released it dies. I am seeing some white smoke coming out of the exhaust and the coolant and oil look to be uncontaminated in any way. Help is needed as the wife got hit in her car today so we need mine running asap. Thanks much.

      Hope your wife is ok. Did you check your TPS and ICV? Possible that the ICV is stuck closed?
      The bad, incorrect fix is to adjust the idle screw on the TB so that it idles high enough to stay running.

        Which injectors and motronic are you using and def confirm that your tps is hitting idle mode when you are off throttle.

          Using the stock is injectors and motronic 1.3 the wife is ok thanks for asking. I did a check where I disconnected the ICV to see if it would be ok but there was no change. The ICV is buzzing but I have not checked to see if it is operating.

            If you are using eta injectors with motronic 1.3 you have an impedance mismatch so id get some b25 injectors. Idle control doesn't kick in til your tps detects a closed throttle. If it's not doing that that's another problem.

              Ok. So yes I am in fact running the b25 injectors. I have pulled 4 of 6 plugs and two looked a little wet, black, and the other two were dry but black. Tomorrow I am gonna do a compression check and fill up on coolant and bleed my clutch (irrelevant I know) and order new vacuum lines and intake boot. I don't think I'll get this sorted before I deploy but such is life.
