    Leaking Oil: Help Please

Hey Guys, I would appreciate any help. It appears that Im leaking some oil, cant really pin point where its coming from. Here are a couple pics but not sure if it will help.

Thank you in advance for any ideas

Looks like it's coming from the front upper part of the engine, but it could be a leak lower down and the oil is being fanned around the side of the engine.

Possible culprits that spring to mind: Head gasket, Front camshaft seal, oil cooler lines, badly seated oil filter - cam cover gasket or sealing plugs, though if this were the case the leak would be very visible and I'd expect to see oil on the exhaust manifold.

Degreasing and washing that side of the engine down with some Dawn and hot water will help you pinpoint the leak origin.

          I spy ix, driver side.

Looks like it could be a few things that like to leak. Oil tube under the manifold, oil pan seal, or if it's coming from higher, it could be the TPS/boot leaking after buildup inside the boot from the crankcase vent. Usually the head gasket/cam seal/valve cover etc will leak on the passenger side due to the slant of the engine. Best to pressure wash and de-greaser and wait for it to come back to pinpoint.

Passenger (right) side, you can see the oil level sensor plug and the oil filter in the top right. Though you're correct on the iX identification.

            - a view I'm all too familiar with :?

Ah, level is on the driver side of RWD m20's - see the filter now.

Best to clean it, then. Could be the VC, head gasket, etc, hard to pinpoint with the engine tilt.
