Question for you 2.7i frank owners

Well.. I'll make things short.. from my research on strictlyeta.netit seems that the 2.7 block mated with a Is head 885 has starting issues. I'm trying to narrow if my starting issues are due to that. I myself don't know if pistons were changed from my understanding is that head is domed and pistons are flat which is why it has the starting issues? Can anyone chime in who has this setup? My car is a 84 325 e that apparently had a I head mated to it . Thanks

It wouldn't do anything like that, my engine isn't the best 2.7i but it starts up smooth every time. What they mean is the air/fuel may be off a little bit because the ecu isn't expecting a 2.7, but at worst that just means it takes a couple seconds longer to start. If even that.

I would check the ecu number and throttle / intake manifold to see exactly what's in there first.

That's a steamy load of crap. When put together properly there are no starting issues and it should not run any different than a M20B25. Is your car using the complete M20B25 Motronic 1.3 injection system? It should be. You can even buy a 2.7i chip from SSSquid for your application.

Well it cranks for a bit and just wants to start and dies... keep doing it over and over. As if it had no fuel.. and when it finally starts it idles like shit for a bit or a few times till it actually stays on and idles fine. But most of the times it starts and dies .
