    High idle M20

The other night after being stuck in traffic for over an hour, I started up the car and it almost immediately jumped to 2000 RPM. It would drop down some then jump right back up to 2k. I thought maybe cleaning out the ICV could be a solution. When doing so I noticed a heavy fuel smell and what appeared to be leaking from one of the hoses next to the ICV. For one, that is not normal for a hose to leak some? Two, would I have some kind of fuel issue making the car idle high?

i was told a long time ago to convert that T junction with a metal one to avoid the possibility of a fuel leak burning my car to the ground. check the plastic fitting.

It also doesn't appear to have had hose clamps at that T. If so please pay up your life insurance before driving that again....better yet...for the rest of our sakes, don't drive it til you fix that leak. You can get a set of metal Ts at Autozone for under $10

95% of the time a high idle is due to intake air leaks

Thanks, Jeff. Yeah I don't plan on driving it until I can fix it. I would rather not see my car in flames.
