New Plugs, Rotor, Ignition Coil, Etc. & Still Won't Start

New here and have used search to sort out some of my issues already.

I have a 1987 325is that seems to have some significant electrical issues that I just can't figure out. The car will turn over, but I am not getting a spark. The fuel tank has been removed and internal tank removed if that makes a difference.

We've installed a new crank sensor (plugged into the right terminal), spark plugs, rotor, distributor cap, ignition coil and spark plug wires. We're getting 12 - 13v on the positive terminal at the coil and the battery is in good shape.

We've tried three different Montronic ECUs and still no spark. What am I missing, what else should I be looking at?

    Thank you!

That sounds like it could be a problem in the wiring harness.I would use my o'scope to look at the CPS signal at the DME connector.
The car makes it possible, but the driver makes it happen.

The Bentley manual has a list of electrical tests that you perform at the dme connector. This can help find wiring problems.
