    Rebuilt head oil content

Just installed a new head from bimmer heads on my M20. Everything runs good and oil pressure is good. Did an oil changed after about 30 minutes of running and the oil was pretty Grey and my magnetic drain plug picked up a good amount of metal. Now running with fresh oil when I check my dipstick sometimes I can see 1 or two small metal flakes about the size of the tip of a needle. Just checking if this is normal for a rebuilt head. Thanks.

What were you finding in the oil before the head rebuild?

One should not see any kind of shavings from just a head swap, especially if before the head install the oil was fine.

Either something is wrong with the head, or it was not cleaned before the install and maybe some left over shavings from production, or even some dirt got into the system?
