    m20 turbo stroker love???

ok, i want to build a m20 turbo stroker, i have a 1985 e motor and i can go and get a i head off of a 89'ish 525 if i do i'll slap the head on my e block "with all new seals and gasket's from what i have heard it sould have about 8-4-1 compression ratio very good for boost i just wanted to know how much power i could get out of the motor with this setup,, 255 walbro 24# injectors or maybe 32#,fmu,61 trim turbo 3 inch in 3 inch out running about 10 to 13psi,big boy front mount intercooler ,2.5" hard pipeing, hks ss bov,msd boost retard,m30 afm.. i want to go MegaSquirt but i need alot more info on what i need to buy to get it working correctly.

    ouch

I wouldn;t slap THAT eta bottom end on just yet.

if I am not mistaken, I believe you need you swap the pistons (since it;s not a super eta)

anyone have more knowlegde about simply slapping a non-super eta bottom end with an I head?

There are at least 2-3 guys on e30tech running that same setup. Stock eta bottom end and i head pushing 18+ psi. BMWSOB ran an 11.6 with a TCD log manifold.

Are these motors running stock eta pistons ?

Yes. They don't tend to last long.

you are going to need super eta pistons. It's been awhile since i've read the stroker threads on e30tech.com but they cover this topic thoroughly so i would do some reading there.

You REALLY need forged pistons for HIGH boost and reliability.

A lot of people run i heads on normal eta pistons...

Yea, it just lowers your compression alot and aparently completely ruins the squinsh area of the combustion chamber. The Super eta pistons are alot better since they are designed for the i head.

Somewhere on here I found a thread where the guy used his e head on his e bottom end but ported the head to i specs. He used the i intake and other components but the motor internally was a e. From what he was saying the compression didn't drop because all the e stuff was used. Does this sound like a good idea ?

Its a really expensive adventure, considering you can get a full i motor for like 500 bucks...
