Super Eta piston compression w/ the 885 head is 8.5:1. I made a 327i (2.7L which is what an eta has stock) out of my Super Eta by carrying all the "i" components over. Metric Mechanic states that this is good enough for ~170-180hp and good for ~100K miles when driven hard. I'd say it pulls much better then a stock super eta. I have a 3.25:1 LSD on it as well that helps with pulling. Stock w/ the 3.25:1 LSD made it an even race to 60mph w/ Andy's Euro 1986 325is.
Now that it is a 327i, who knows. ;)

In South Africa we also had factory 2.7 models called 325is. The 325is Evo II was rated at 155 KW (210 hp).
I posted some pics of 325i and the 2.7 Mahle pistons as well as profile comparisons on our South African forum.
The 2.7 engines use the 135mm conrods. The gudgeon pin is higher up in the piston to compensate for the increased stroke of the crank.Leave a comment:

I don't know if the chip is any different, but the Mahle catalog lists specific pistons for the "M20B27 mtech." They are domed, and look more like B25 pistons than eta pistons, so the pistons must be different.Leave a comment:

Do you think you could find a Lebanese chip for the 2.7? Maybe a set of pistons, to see if they are different than the "i" piston?@JGOOD: BMW actually DID make a 2.7 stroker from the factory, and this engine was offered along with the full MtechII kit in some countries. We have some in Lebanon. They're rated at 185hp as opposed to the 2.5s which are 171hp here. So that's a good indication of how much power you can expect from a 'stock' 2.7i.

A fully built ~3L stroker should make >200whp on a dynojet otherwise its not fully built. If it wasn't $150 for a few power runs i'd show you....lol. There is nothing special on Jordans car that is different to how anyone builds an engine it simply uses techniques that have been longproven. There are certain ingredients that make good power it is really pretty simple just not that cheap.
- Displacement Stroke/Bore
- Cam 270+
- Light Port work
- High Compression atleast 10:1
- Longtube headers (good ones BTB, BAV, STAHL, SS not el cheapo ones)
- free flowing exhaust

I think I might have intended to put 180Bhp.
I just wonder what headers, full exhaust and MS&S would do for one...

No way. Jordan's fully built 2.8 only put down 192rwhp with a good piggyback tune. If that eta/2.3 combo puts down 160rwhp I'd be impressed. 180hp maybe, not 180rwhp.
A SETA/i combo is simply a m20b25 with a little bit longer stroke. If that little extra stroke gives someone 30whp I'd be really really impressed. I think BMW would have made it that way from the factory if that was the case. People with fully built 3.0 strokers aren't even puting down that much. The stroke/bore of the m20 isn't the bottleneck.Leave a comment:

Except for "i" cam, springs, intake, TB, ECU, etc.
I have heard that the ETA/M20B23 combo would do 180 RWHP, so I expect a SETA/i should do about there too.
