    Wideband question

I have a wideband O2 set-up I need to install in my E30 to allow me to tune my ITB’s (all the hardware for which has been long ready & taunts me daily). Before I weld on another O2 bung for the new sensor though, I thought I’d ask a stupid question: The wideband O2 controller I’m using has a 0-5v output, intended to act as an AFR input into engine management systems. Is there any chance of being able to use my new wideband sensor ‘in place of my stock O2 sensor’ in the factory location (thereby ridding myself of the need for an additional O2 bung) & use the wideband controller’s 0-5v AFR output to replace the now removed factory O2 sensor signal??

I have a map of the ‘voltage vs. AFR’ output of my wideband; if anyone happens to know what the factory O2 sensor output is I’d love to see it??

some widebands (like the LC1) have an extra output for your ECU - the motronic ECU needs a narrowband input (0-1v), you can't send it a 0-5v signal. if your wideband controller has the second 0-1v output, I'd send that one to motronic and use the wideband output for your gauge. if not your only option is to leave the stock O2 sensor and weld in a second bung.

Krud, I had hoped I wouldn’t need to jam another obstruction in the exhaust path, but, so be it.

well you could always sell your WB setup and get the innovate LC-1, it does what you want it to :p

but welding up a second bung is probably easier/cheaper.
