    # of teeth on t-belt matter?

    im going to do the t-belt on my 87 325i, but when i went to get the belt i had a choice of 127 or 128 tooth belts, does it matter which one i get? how can i tell before taking it off and counting.

    I didn't know there were too teeth counts. WOuld that depend on if you have an ETA or I engine?
    I only had one option when I bought mine

      Maybe you should check around with some other parts retailers. T-belts are cheap, maybe just buy both and compare then return one.

        Here in the shop a quick way to verify t-belts is to mark one groove with whit-out or other type marking material. place the new belt and old belt rib-to-rib. then while holding both belts, complete one full "meshing" back to the white-out. If you are not aligned with your marks, the belt is not correct.

          your tenisonor will say 127 or 128. get whatever belt it says.

            buy the entire kit, which includes the belt and tensioner... Its quite a bit easier!
