just that, tonight i pinned full throtle and then slamed in second and punched it again. the back end slid a little with tire spin and then after it started sounding like a subaru! it feels like one of the cylinder's isnt fireing..i was just woundering if anybody else has had this problem?
HELP!! my car sounds like a subaru...

Broken rocker is most likely.

yep broken rocker arm on the #4 cylinder...now it looks like i have to pull the head off to get a new rocker on there? or is there a sneaky way to do it?

If you want to make it a long, cumbersome, draw out process.... you can change it in the car.
I much prefer to pull the head to do it. It doesn't take long and you can replace worn seals and the like while you are there.
I prefer to pull the head with the intake manifold and exhaust manifolds still attached. This saves you alot of time, labor, and the cost/time of replacing those gaskets. The downside to this is the entire assembly is pretty heavy and although you can likely lift it up and off, and hold it at your chest fine.... holding it with your arms stretched out trying to lower it steadily onto the block to put it back on is near impossible. With a friend on the other side to help its cake.
Do yourself the favor while its out and replace all 12 rockers with new ones. You'll never have this problem again. They way it sounds like you like to drive, with these rockers age, they are all just waiting to follow suit.Tenured Automotive Service Professional - Avid BMW Enthusiast
